Score 17/20 · Drink 1960-1998, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2012
Some shippers declared 1934, others like Cockburn favoured the rather less rich and concentrated 1935. The dryness of the wine suggests it had quite a bit of time in the lagares. No winter rain (like 2011/12). Average for January is 104 mm but they had only 9 mm in 2012. Wrote in 1935: Farmers face ruin. Pale yellow tawny. Drying out a bit with marsala and dried orange-peel notes. Running out of fruit on the finish. (JR)
