Score 18.5/20 · Drink 1965-2030, Jancis Robinson MW, Feb 2010
We finished with this; sweet, rich and plummy wine, and more than a match for the cheese. It's savoury and intense, with a hint of mint, and considerable alcohol (apparently about 14.5%, even though it had some ice on the vat to slow the fermentation). It opens to softer, more candied fruit than at the start, but still has the power and youthfulness to last another, say, 20 years. (CM)
