pH 3.6, TA 6 g/l. Terribly tricky vintage without leaves but it worked! Some evolution at the rim. Actually even a little too old for my taste. Mushrooms and violets, with some sweetness. Dusty finish. (JR)

Mid to dark crimson. Sweet tea nose rather than Pinot fragrance. Big and brutal, even though the alcohol level is relatively low. Slightly bitter finish. Falls away a bit fast. (JR)
A good bottle of this wine. Still quite deep ruby with just a little visible evolution. Sweet, jewelly fruit – not especially burgundian but clean, fresh, lip smacking and a little tannin still perceptible on the finish. Well balanced with no excess of sweetness or acidity. Really quite crisp though sweetness is the overwhelming attribute. Not especially complex but it may develop complexity. (JR)
There was a terrible drought in 2001. These vines were topgrafted over to Pinot Noir back in 1987. Still very bright crimson. Quite raw fruit that reminds me of a Boisset current red burgundy. Delicate on the palate though with lovely texture and great balance. (JR)
