Some development at the rim. Round and sleeker than Lafon Rochet. A bit more modern. The tannins don’t seem quite as fresh and true though this is clearly an ambitious wine. A hint of greenness. (JR)

Excellent deep crimson. Rich, silky. Really rather gorgeous. Taffeta texture; crackling. Quite chewy. Actually, exceptionally for the Médoc 2001s, more appealing for its level than the grand vin. (JR)
