1998 Niederhauser Hermannshohle Spatlese

This is so dense it shows less sweetness than its analytically similar predecessors. At once compact and creamy, with flavor layers of peach, sage, toasted nuts, lingonberry and stone. Layers, yes, but there is also a juicy, dynamic interplay of all these flavors. Displays a fullness and warmth in the mouth that its predecessors didn't, along with biblical length. Hard to improve on this, yet there is also the following wine.
