Chateau d'Armailhac
This chateau has undergone so many name changes within the last few decades that it's amazing it knows who it is. Nevertheless, the wines from this chateau, one of three Pauillac estates owned by the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild (the others are Mouton-Rothschild and Clerc-Milon) provide steady, classic examples of Pauillac power and purity. The blend at this estate, from 50+ hectares of vines, favors Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and so produces a less muscular Bordeaux.
