As I begin looking ahead to the holiday season for entertaining, one of my favorite choices for breaking open for family and friends is Pinot Noir. Back in the middle of the summer we brought in the new 2006 Russian River Pinot Noir bottling from Donum and offered it with the 2005 Carneros bottling.
If you were fortunate to pick up some of the premiere release of 2005 Donum Pinot Noir Russian River, VF 97 last year at this time, you previewed one of Vinfolio's Top 25 of 2007. Kenneth Juhasz is the winemaker.
Our initial offering of the 2006 Donum Pinot Noir Russian River Valley; VF 97 release sold out quickly when we offered it on the strength of receiving an identical Vinfolio score as the first release. Not wanting to get caught short of this highly sought after wine, we re-ordered immediately and have it safely in our warehouse. At the same time we brought in another shipment of the 2005 Donum Pinot Noir Carneros; VF 94 to offer our clients a choice of styles from this excellent producer.

While on the subject of Donum I can't pass up reminding you about the Hospices of Sonoma large formats from Donum that scored 97 points from Vinfolio. We are currently down to a single magnum and double magnum each of this wine that was custom blended by Kenneth and I last year.
