How do I access the scores and reviews of Vinfolio's professional wine reviewer partners through my Vinfolio account?
Because of Vinfolio's partnerships with Stephen Tanzer, Allen Meadows, Roy Hersh's For The Love of Port, and Richard Juhlin's Champagne Club, we are able to integrate their complete set of reviews into both the Wine Store and VinCellar.
In the Wine Store:
  • Every wine in the Our inventory tab of search results displays the reviewer initials and score when available.   The latest score of each reviewer is displayed as well as scores from Robert Parker and Wine Spectator. Hovering your mouse icon over the score will pop up the full review and clicking on the wine name displays a full page of details with all reviews on the wine, including drink date recommendations.
  • In the Other results tab, because these wines are not in Vinfolio inventory (you must request a quote), we are permitted to display scores and reviews only for those reviewer partners for whom you have paid web subscriptions.   Note that you must register them in your Vinfolio account to "link" them and be signed in to your Vinfolio account when viewing Other results.
In VinCellar:
  • Find the specified wine in your VinCellar account.
  • Click on the wine name to bring up the Wine Overview window where you may see a summary of all professional scores and drink date recommendations (if any) without separate paid subscriptions to each reviewer.
  • If you have registered a paid subscription, you may also see the full text of that reviewer's comments in the Professional Reviews tab of the Wine Overview window.

What is Free Run Juice and what topics are covered in Doug Wilder's blog?
Free Run Juice is Doug Wilder's blog.  It takes its name from the wine term that describes the juice released from crushed grapes without using a mechanical crusher.  It is fresh, new and rich.  Though just a little bit is produced, it is the highest quality juice because it is free from the astringents and tannins released when seeds and stems are crushed.  That is what Doug wants this blog to represent.
The blog covers most anything to do with wine and related lifestyle in California that isn't a wine review. Topics include new wineries, tasting events, the Winery Dog of the Month, wine and collecting questions such as: "Does a wine smell different depending on which way you swirl your glass?" Each Wednesday, Doug releases the name of the best wine he tasted in the prior week and how to get it before it is reviewed.

What topics are covered in The Wine Collector blog by Steve Bachmann?
Sometimes it's helpful to define something by what it isn't and this is one of those times. The Wine Collector is not a blog to read for the latest in wine recommendations or producers. There are hundreds of other blogs, websites, newsletters, and magazines where you can read those opinions (including Free Run Juice on this site). The Wine Collector will instead address the many practical activities involved in being a wine collector to help you use your time efficiently and intelligently. The end goal is to create more time for enjoying your wine and to bring a degree of order to your collection, however big or small.
